Pertemps Thames Water in Rickmansworth is hiring a Class 1 HGV Driver to join the Logistics Delivery team. You will operate potable water tankers to support reactive and planned work and ensure first-class customer service while upholding company values.

The role offers full training, a comprehensive benefits package, and shifts of 38.5 hours per week with 4 on 4 off (days and nights).

Job description

As an HGV Class 1 Driver with Pertemps Thames Water in Rickmansworth, the successful candidate acts as an ambassador for Thames Water on the road, upholding company values and delivering first-class customer service. Working full time within the Logistics Delivery team, the driver operates a fleet of potable water tankers supporting both reactive and planned work, carrying out the essential delivery of water to customers.

Responsibilities

• Taking water samples before loading and discharging into hydrants or reservoirs
• Following processes and procedures diligently
• Driving both HGV 1 and HGV 2 vehicles with manual and automatic gearboxes plus various support equipment

The position offers £38,842 to £44,141 annually.

As a Class 1 HGV Driver, you will be an ambassador for Thames Water out on the road, where you will ensure that our values are upheld, and you will be driven to provide first-class customer service - you will truly be the face of Thames Water. You will work as part of the Logistics Delivery team, which operates a fleet of Potable Water Tankers to support both reactive and planned work. You will be joining a team that carries out the essential delivery of water to our customers. Within this team, you will learn how to take water samples before loading and discharging them into hydrants or reservoirs. This role consists of being able to follow processes and procedures. You will be expected to drive both HGV 1 and HGV 2 vehicles, which have manual and automatic gearboxes, plus various support vehicles such as Welfare vans.

• Location: based at Maple Lodge STW, Rickmansworth

• Shift Pattern: 38.5 hours per week - 4 on, 4 off (Days & Nights) - £44,141 per annum
• Shift Pattern: 38.5 hours per week - 4 on, 4 off (Monday to Sunday Day Shifts) - £38,842 per annum
• Contract: full time

What should you bring to the role?

• Experience as a Class 1 HGV Driver
• Happy working on a rotational shift pattern, including days and nights
• No more than 6 penalty points and no DR or IN convictions on your licence
• A full driver CPC and a valid Driver Tachograph card
• Demonstrate a clear knowledge of Transport Law and the Road Traffic Act
• Have a working knowledge of Drivers' Hours rules and Working Time regulations
