Job summary

Thames Water Utilities Limited is seeking an experienced HGV driver to join our Logistics Delivery team. You will operate a fleet of potable water tankers supporting reactive and planned work and learn water sampling procedures during loading and discharge at hydrants or reservoirs.

You will follow strict processes, drive both HGV 1 and HGV 2 with manual/automatic gearboxes, and work in a team rotating days and nights.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Class 1 HGV Driver.
• Willingness to work on a rotational shift pattern (days and nights).
• Licence: no more than 6 penalty points and no DR or IN convictions.
• Full Driver CPC and a valid Driver Tachograph card.
• Knowledge of Transport Law and the Road Traffic Act.
• Working knowledge of Drivers' Hours rules and Working Time regulations.

Responsibilities

• Follow processes and procedures in daily operations.
• Drive HGV 1 and HGV 2 vehicles (manual and automatic) and support vehicles.
• Learn how to take water samples before loading and discharging them into hydrants or reservoirs.

Job description

You will work as part of the Logistics Delivery team, which operates a fleet of Potable Water Tankers to support both reactive and planned work. You will be joining a team that carries out the essential delivery of water to our customers. Within this team, you will learn how to take water samples before loading and discharging them into hydrants or reservoirs.

This role consists of being able to follow processes and procedures. You will be expected to drive both HGV 1 and HGV 2 vehicles, which have manual and automatic gearboxes, plus various support vehicles such as Welfare vans.

• Experience as a Class 1 HGV Driver.
• Happy working on a rotational shift pattern, including days and nights.
• No more than 6 penalty points and no DR or IN convictions on your licence.
• A full driver CPC and a valid Driver Tachograph card.
• Demonstrate a clear knowledge of Transport Law and the Road Traffic Act.
• Have a working knowledge of Drivers' Hours rules and Working Time regulations.
