Job summary

GXO Redditch is seeking an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our transport team supporting Halfords. You will play a key part in keeping the supply chain moving across the UK in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Role is full-time and permanent with a 2-week rota (Week 1 - Mon to Thu / Week 2 - Wed to Sat), start times 02:00 to 04:00, 48 hours per week, with regular nights out and occasional away-from-home stays as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience driving HGV Class 1.
• Willing to stay away from home on nights out.
• Able to carry out multidrop deliveries (up to 6 drops per shift).
• Able to load/unload pallets and cages safely.
• Excellent customer service and courteous conduct.
• Understand and follow legal and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out multidrop deliveries, typically averaging up to 6 drops per shift.
• Handle palletised goods and cages, ensuring safe loading and unloading.
• Maintain communication with the Depot Transport Office and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal and efficient manner and complete required documents on time.
• Contribute to efficient and lean supply chains.

Here at GXO Redditch we are looking for HGV Class 1 Driver to join our transport team, supporting our customer Halfords. You’ll play a key part in keeping the supply chain flowing smoothly in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, on a 2-week rota pattern: Week 1 - Monday to Thursday / Week 2 - Wednesday to Saturday, with start time window of 02:00 to 04:00, contracted to 48 hours per week.

Please note, this role requires regular nights out and the successful candidate will be expected to stay away from home when required as part of the role.

Pay, benefits and more:

An annual salary of £45,444.78

An additional annual responsibility payment of £475.77

£31.36 night out allowance for each night out worked

What you will do on a typical day:

Carry out multidrop deliveries, typically averaging up to 6 drops per shift, while collecting returns from stores in line with operational requirements

Handle both palletised goods and cages, ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading procedures

Maintain clear communication with the Depot Transport Office regarding any issues and deliver exemplary customer service by being polite and courteous at all times

Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner while ensuring required documents are completed accurately and on time
