Job description

Wincanton is recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Lorry Driver to join our team in Reading. This role involves covering colleagues' shifts as needed, including nights out. The vehicles driven may include crane vehicles, drawbar, and rigid crane vehicles.

Salary and Schedule
  • £47,202.02 per annum
  • Monday to Friday, with various day or night shifts
  • Minimum 48 hours per week
  • 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Nights out required
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver customer orders to building sites and homes, maintaining a positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.
  • Operate crane vehicles and ensure daily vehicle maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Prioritize health and safety, comply with customer requirements, and put customers at the center of your work.
  • Cover shift patterns when colleagues are on leave or absent, including nights out.
  • Ensure punctuality for on-time deliveries and work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.
Candidate Requirements
  • Valid C+E Class 1 license
  • Valid CPC and Digital tachograph card
  • No more than 6 points on license
  • Experience with HIAB, Palfinger roll loader, or brick grab preferred
  • Good timekeeping and ability to work independently
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, and customer-focused with a flexible attitude
  • Good English communication and writing skills
  • Good geographical knowledge
