Job summary

Extrastaff is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 drivers for a role based near Maidstone. You will operate across national or regional distribution centres, ensuring goods are moved efficiently and on time across the supply chain.

The role requires a valid UK LGV1 licence, tachograph and Driver Qualification Card, with knowledge of highway rules and hours regulations. Training will be provided within a structured transport network.

Qualifications

• A valid Manual UK LGV1 C + E driving licence (with a maximum of 6 points).
• A valid Driver Qualification Card (with up to date training) and a valid Tachograph Card.
• Previous experience driving LGV (articulated vehicles).

Responsibilities

• Plan delivery journeys to ensure efficient operations and smooth supply chain flow.
• Support safe loading and unloading of trailers.
• Carry out a full safety check on the lorry and comply with regulations.
• Report any vehicle issues and keep transport office updated on journeys.

Extrastaff Maidstone are searching for experienced HGV CLASS 1 DRIVERS for a established client of ours in Aylesford.

As an HGV CLASS 1 DRIVER, you\'ll keep the retail operation flowing by ensuring their stock is in the right place at the right time for our customers. Based out of one of the national or regional distribution centres, you\'ll be transporting goods right across our supply chain network and shops in one of our LGV articulated vehicles.

HGV CLASS 1 DRIVER REQUIREMENTS AND DUTIES

• Planning out your delivery journey, ensuring efficiency to support the smooth running of our supply chain operation.
• Supporting the safe loading and unloading of your trailer.
• Carrying out a full set of safety checks on your lorry.
• Maintaining a full knowledge of the Highway code, WTD, EU Drivers Hours Regulations, the Partnership\'s Transport Partners handbook and the driver\'s training pack and adhere to them
• Finding solutions to unexpected situations on the day and keeping the transport office up to date with your journey, communicating any problems and delays that might occur.
• Reporting any vehicle issues appropriately.
• Completing Supplier and Partnership documentation accurately.

Essential skills/experience you\'ll need
