We are seeking permanent Class 1 Drivers to join our Transport team based at our Luton Hub. A typical day involves 1 drop and around 3 collections, all of which is exceptionally clean work with very little handballing. The contracted hours are 40 hours per week, with additional hours possibly available. Shift times vary between 05:00 and 20:00, with Saturday runs between 05:00 and 15:00. Some weekend work on a rota basis is required. Candidates must be flexible to work outside normal hours when needed.

Roles and Responsibilities

Our Drivers are the face of the Company, playing an integral role in delivering excellent service daily. We seek professional, self-motivated individuals capable of working effectively both independently and within a team, complying with Working Time Directive, Drivers' hours, and regulations.

Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will ensure compliance with all EU and DVSA regulations, Health & Safety procedures, and that the vehicle remains in a safe and serviceable condition.

Main Duties

• Complete collections and deliveries according to the specified run list
• Provide excellent customer service, representing the Company professionally
• Transport and safely deliver products for the Company and Customers
• Ensure all deliveries and collections meet deadlines
• Comply with legislative requirements and company policies
• Work collaboratively with other Drivers and colleagues
• Promote teamwork and set a positive example
• Perform vehicle pre-operational checks to high standards
• Complete paperwork clearly and debrief to the Transport Department
• Perform manual handling safely
• Report defects immediately
• Maintain communication with the Transport Department during runs
• Secure loads properly and within weight limits
• Perform any other duties as required

All duties support our certifications for FORS and 39001 RTS. Full training will be provided during induction, with ongoing training to support your career development.

Candidate Requirements

You must have demonstrable experience as a C+E Driver, with knowledge of Road Transport Legislation. You should understand our Health & Safety procedures, be diligent, and attentive to detail. A calm temperament and a driven attitude are essential. Knowledge of the mailing industry and downstream access market is advantageous.

Essential Experience

• Good interpersonal skills
• Relevant regulated driving experience
• Full knowledge of and compliance with Road Transport Legislation
• Good communication skills in English (written and verbal)

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Full clean UK driving license (or up to 6 points considered)
• Completed CPC
• Current UK digital tachograph card
