PERMANENT ROLE – CLASS 1 DRIVER £40,703.52 per annum

We have an exciting opportunity for Class 1 drivers to join our busy Howden's transport team from our Hemel Hempstead depot.

• Contracted to 44 hours per week
• Start times between 05:00 - 06:00
• Overtime paid at time and a half after contracted hours
• Monthly pay

Driver responsibilities:

• Accurate, timely movement and delivery of products
• Delivering caged or palletised goods to RDCs or stores
• Signing paperwork and collecting waste or cages for return
• Adhering to safe working practices to ensure safety
• Securing trailer loads to prevent damage
• Providing excellent customer service and ownership of issues
• Carrying out multi-drop deliveries within the delivery window
• Monitoring vehicle defects and reporting to the Transport Office
• Attending essential training
• Supporting yard operations as required
• Following driving legislation and standards
• Maintaining flexibility in working patterns and start times
• Upholding high personal and professional standards
• Promoting health and safety values

Candidate requirements:

• Valid HGV Class 1 license
• Driver CPC (DCPC) card
• Digital Tachograph card
• No more than 6 points on license
• Recent 2 years Class 1 driving experience
• Excellent customer service skills
• Previous retail and commercial driving experience (desirable)
• Confident, engaging, polite, friendly
• Calm, professional, team player
• Flexible with shifts and duties
• Ability to provide time-critical delivery services
