Job summary

SGM Recruitment is seeking HGV Class 1 Drivers (Class 1 HGV Drivers) for ongoing opportunities across East London, including Grays, Purfleet, Dagenham, Barking, Tilbury, Thurrock and London Gateway. Shifts pay £180-£200 per shift with weekly wages.

Role may involve various assignments such as container/port work, trunking and depot-to-depot tasks, swap trailers, and refrigerated transport. Day or night shifts offered where available.

Responsibilities

• Complete driving assignments safely and efficiently.

• Maintain professional communication with the transport team.

HGV Class 1 Driver / Class 1 HGV Driver (C+E) - East London

£180-£200 per shift | Ongoing Work | Weekly Pay

SGM Recruitment is currently recruiting HGV Class 1 Drivers (Class 1 HGV Drivers) for ongoing driving opportunities across East London, including Grays, Purfleet, Dagenham, Barking, Tilbury, Thurrock and London Gateway.

We have opportunities for experienced drivers and, depending on the assignment, newly qualified Category C+E Drivers. We offer regular work, competitive rates, weekly pay and ongoing support.

About the Role

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you may work across different assignments depending on your experience, availability and preferred type of work.

Opportunities may include:

• Container and port work
• Trunking and depot-to-depot work
• Swap trailer and traction work
• Refrigerated transport
• Shunting and general Class 1 work

Day and night shifts may be available depending on the client and location.

Responsibilities

As a Class 1 HGV Driver, you will be expected to:

• Complete driving assignments safely and efficiently
• Carry out daily vehicle and trailer checks
• Complete relevant paperwork and transport documentation
• Follow drivers' hours, Working Time Directive and road safety regulations
• Maintain professional communication with the transport team

Requirements

Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience is preferred for some assignments. Newly qualified Class 1 drivers may also be considered for suitable positions where training is available.
