HGV Class 1 Driver, Kinning Park, £37,000 per annum plus overtime

We're recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join a leading global business based in Glasgow. This is a full-time, permanent role working day shift, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work.

What you'll be doing:

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you'll play a key role in transporting recovered materials between customer sites and the company facility. You'll be expected to maintain the highest standards of safety, vehicle care, and customer service at all times.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Driving Class 1 or Class 2 vehicles to collect customer materials safely and professionally.
• Operating vehicles and ancillary equipment, including Walking Floor and Hook Loader systems.
• Performing daily vehicle checks to ensure road-worthiness and reporting any defects promptly.
• Ensuring loads are correctly secured and comply with weight/capacity limits.
• Maintaining accurate driver and vehicle records in line with legal and company requirements.
• Adhering to all site rules, road transport regulations, and Working Time Directive legislation.
• Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and presentation.
• Reporting any incidents, accidents, or near misses to the Transport team.

What we're looking for:

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, Driver CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 penalty points (no DD, DR, or IN endorsements).
• Strong understanding of EU driving hours and Working Time Directive.
• Sound geographical knowledge and excellent communication skills.
• Experience in waste logistics, Walking Floor, Hook Loader, and vehicle-mounted FLT is highly desirable but not essential as training can be provided.
