Class 1 HGV Driver Role at Thames Water

As a Class 1 HGV Driver, you will be an ambassador for Thames Water on the road, ensuring our values are upheld and providing first-class customer service — truly representing Thames Water.

You will work as part of the Logistics Delivery team operating a fleet of Potable Water Tankers to support reactive and planned work. Your responsibilities include delivering water to customers and learning how to take water samples before loading and discharging into hydrants or reservoirs.

This role requires following established processes and procedures. You will drive both HGV 1 and HGV 2 vehicles, which have manual and automatic gearboxes, along with support vehicles such as Welfare vans.

HGV Class 1 Driver Job Details

• 45 hours per week - 4 on, 4 off, 5 on, 3 off - £49,599
• 38 hours per week - 4 on, 4 off - £42,435
• Location: Bracknell STW
• Full training provided along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

• Experience as a Class 1 HGV Driver
• Willingness to work on a rotational shift pattern including days and nights
• No more than 6 penalty points and no DR or IN convictions on your licence
• Full driver CPC and a valid Driver Tachograph card
• Knowledge of Transport Law and the Road Traffic Act
• Understanding of Drivers Hours rules and Working Time regulations
