Job summary

DriverForce UK in Grays is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Container Driver to join our client on an ongoing temporary basis. You will carry out daily safety checks, transport containers to and from London Gateway, and ensure timely deliveries with excellent customer service.

We require a valid Class 1 HGV licence, London Gateway card, container experience, and a Driver CPC with a tachograph card. Minimum 2 years of Class 1 driving and a clean licence (≤6 points) are expected.

Qualifications

• Valid Category C+E (Class 1) HGV licence.
• Valid London Gateway card.
• Container experience.
• Minimum of 2 years HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• Driver CPC qualification and Digital tachograph card.
• Maximum 6 points on licence.
• Available for ongoing temporary work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections and report defects.
• Transport containers to and from London Gateway and surrounding area.
• Ensure deliveries are completed safely and on time.
• Comply with WTD and tachograph rules.
• Maintain high level of customer service at drop-off / collection points.

About the Role

As a HGV Class 1 Container Driver, your role will include

• Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections, completing required paperwork and reporting any defects
• Transporting containers to and from London Gateway and surrounding area
• Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely and on time
• Complying with all relevant driving rules and regulations including WTD and tachograph rules
• Maintaining a high level of customer service at all drop off / collection points

About You

We're looking for a reliable and safety-conscious driver with the right experience and a strong work ethic.

• Hold a valid Category C+E (Class 1) HGV licence
• Hold valid London Gateway card
• Have container experience
• Have a minimum of 2 years' HGV Class 1 driving experience
• Hold a valid Driver CPC qualification & Digital tacho card
• Demonstrate excellent awareness of road safety and teamwork
• Max 6 points on you licence
• Available for ongoing temporary work
