Job summary

Unitruc LTD is seeking an HGV Class 1 Night Driver on a contract for Kuehne + Nagel, based at East Midlands Gateway. The role involves trunking with trailers, delivering to commercial premises, and handling ADR duties with training provided when needed.

The position offers a guaranteed 48 hours per week, with overtime and nights out for additional earnings. A valid HGV license, Digital tachograph, CPC, and ADR (preferable) are required; trucks are automatic Euro 6 Volvos or Renaults.

Qualifications

• Must have a CPC card.
• ADR license preferable; training available for right candidates.

Responsibilities

• Trunking with trailer swaps and deliveries to commercial premises.
• Ensure loads are strapped and secured per company and legal requirements.
• Provide first-line support for vehicle or trailer issues via client contact.
• Operate mainly during night shifts, with overtime opportunities.
• Communicate delays promptly to maintain service standards.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Location: Kuehne + Nagel, East Midlands Gateway

Working Hours: Shifts based on a guaranteed minimum of 48 hours per week. Plus, overtime and nights out for additional earnings.

Salary: £47,424 per annum (£912 per week + overtime)

The Role - HGV Class 1 Night Driver

• This HGV Night Driver role involves working directly for our customers, on contract.


• Our client will be your point of contact for all operational and trailer issues. Any vehicle or other work-related issues are dealt by us directly.


• We give training where necessary to familiarise you with the role and bed you into the job.


• These HGV roles are independent and are ideal for driver's that like to think for themselves.


• ADR deliveries will be a part of this job, so applicants who already hold their ADR license will be prioritised. An ADR licence is required for this role, though we will provide training to the right candidates.


• This HGV Class 1 Night Driver role normally involves trunking with trailer swaps, as well as carrying out deliveries and collections to commercial premises. All loads must be safely strapped and secured in line with company & legal requirements. Any delays or issues must be communicated promptly to the customer to maintain service standards.

Essential skills and qualifications

• Must be keen, efficient and have sound safe working practices.


• A valid HGV license.


• A valid Digital tacho.


• Up to date CPC Card.


• A current ADR license preferable, all classes except 1&7
