Are you an experienced HGV Driver looking for something different in your next driving role - where no two days are the same and you can combine your love of driving with a sense of pride in delivering fantastic customer service? Read on and find out more about joining a team where your contribution is truly valued. At Sunbelt Rentals UK, our vision is to own the future of rentals. In the last year alone, we've invested more than £10 million on vehicles and £1.5 million on a new logistics system, ensuring our network of over 1000 transport colleagues always remain connected and our customers receive a world-class service. Our FORS Gold accreditation demonstrates our commitment to driver and vehicle safety, supporting our core value of ensuring safety as our number one priority.

From day one our focus will be on your training and development, a key part of which will be attending our company induction and Sunbelt Driver Training course. Your manager will work with you to identify your personal development needs and career progression plan, including opportunities to gain new qualifications. We're committed to developing our team-mates and promoting internally wherever possible.

What you will need to bring to the role:

  1. You will be a fully competent HGV driver with licence category C, preferably with a clean driving licence (no more than six points).
  2. Licence category E with Driver CPC and Digital Driver Card is desirable (Training may be available).
  3. Experience in the movement of Plant or Powered Access equipment with IPAF or ADR certification desirable.
  4. It's essential that you have good customer service and communication skills with the ability to build good relationships and represent Sunbelt Rentals in a positive manner.
  5. A flexible and adaptable approach; you will be an effective team player.
  6. You'll be articulate and organised, with a good level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  7. A strong commitment to and awareness of Health and Safety as you'll be required to comply with H&S legislation and Sunbelt Rentals health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.

Sunbelt Rentals is the leader in equipment rentals in the UK, Ireland, US and Canada - as well as specialist operations in Europe. We provide a range of solutions to every market and sector, including construction, industrial, energy, infrastructure, government and events. Our teams make the impossible possible and the unthinkable doable. Turning what if into what is.

Our people are at the heart of our values and they're our greatest asset. We rely on you to look after our customers so in return, we take good care of you. We recognise the value and uniqueness of our team-mates and are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive Sunbelt Rentals, providing equality of opportunity and a culture of fairness and respect. Your health, safety and wellbeing is really important to us. We're raising awareness and providing support through initiatives such as our mental health awareness campaign and first-aider programme. You'll also be able to access a 24-7 employee assistance helpline, counselling services and financial wellbeing support.

Every day brings something new - travelling to different locations, meeting customers, delivering and collecting a wide range of plant hire equipment - from excavators and telehandlers to generators and scissor lifts - to name just a few. You'll also demonstrate how to operate the equipment, so we'll ensure that you have the training and skills needed to carry this out in a professional and safe manner. The personal qualities you'll bring are as important to us as your skills and experience. You'll be the face of Sunbelt Rentals, the first person that most of our customers will see, so we'll expect you to be a great brand ambassador. Friendly and helpful, you'll be the kind of person who goes out of their way to help their team-mates and customers.

What can we offer you in return? You'll benefit from a good work/life balance working pattern of Monday-Friday 42.5 hours per week, with the potential for overtime by mutual agreement. You'll be joining a highly successful FTSE100 company, the UK's largest equipment rental provider. We provide an Industry leading flexible rewards package including generous holiday allowance (with the opportunity to buy and sell annual leave), life assurance, retail discount scheme, employee recognition awards and a great Company pension scheme.
