About Us:
Kenect Recruitment are seeking a skilled and motivated Gully Truck Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving and operating a specialist gully truck to clean and maintain gullies, drains, and other drainage systems.

Role Overview:
As a Gully Truck Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective operation of drainage systems in urban and rural areas. You will operate a gully truck to clean and empty gullies, clear blockages, and carry out regular inspections to ensure the smooth functioning of drainage systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Safely driving and operating a gully truck for cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  2. Performing routine cleaning, jetting, and waste removal from gullies, drains, and other drainage systems.
  3. Carrying out regular inspections to identify blockages, faults, or potential issues.
  4. Ensuring all waste is disposed of in compliance with environmental regulations.
  5. Completing daily logs, including vehicle checks and work reports.
  6. Maintaining the cleanliness and good working order of the gully truck.
  7. Adhering to all health and safety guidelines and ensuring safe working practices at all times.
  8. Working with the team to address customer concerns and meet service delivery expectations.


Essential Skills and Experience:
  1. A valid and clean UK driving license with category C (HGV) or equivalent.
  2. Experience in operating gully trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
  3. Knowledge of drainage systems and gully cleaning practices is advantageous but not essential.
  4. A strong understanding of health and safety procedures in a road-based or maintenance setting.
  5. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform manual tasks.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  7. Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Desirable Qualifications:
  1. CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification for drivers.
  2. Previous experience in waste management or drainage cleaning.
