Job summary

Got People is currently seeking HGV Class 2 Drivers to join one of the UK's leading parcel delivery operations in a fast-paced environment. Newly qualified drivers are welcome to apply, and you will be responsible for the safe loading, transport and delivery of parcels to depots, hubs and customers.

Shifts are available on a 24/7 basis with a competitive hourly rate (£16.66 to £18.17) and flexible patterns designed to fit your lifestyle.

Qualifications

• Valid Category C (Class 2) driving licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Comfortable using mobile IT devices and completing daily paperwork.
• Clear and effective communication with supervisors, colleagues and customers.
• Understanding of Working Time Regulations and tachograph requirements.
• Knowledge of daily vehicle checks and vehicle roadworthiness.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and equipment safely in line with policies and legal requirements.
• Complete training and inductions to perform the role effectively.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment, including daily checks.
• Communicate courteously with colleagues, customers and stakeholders.
• Follow company reporting procedures promptly.

The Role

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe operation of company vehicles to load, transport and deliver parcels to depots, hubs and customers efficiently and professionally.

Newly qualified drivers are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and equipment safely in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and your valid licence, experience and training.
• Complete all necessary training and inductions to perform your role effectively.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment to a high standard, including conducting daily vehicle checks.
• Communicate courteously and professionally with colleagues, customers and other stakeholders.
• Follow all company reporting procedures accurately and promptly.

What We Are Looking For

• A valid Category C (Class 2) driving licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Confidence in using mobile IT devices and accurately completing daily paperwork and electronic records.
• Clear and effective communication skills when liaising with supervisors, controllers, colleagues, customers and the public.
• Understanding of safe and legal HGV driving practises, including Working Time Regulations, tachograph requirements and official rest breaks.
• Knowledge of daily vehicle checks, defect reporting and maintaining vehicle roadworthiness.
