Job summary

A local government authority in Tamworth seeks a Heritage & Leisure Facilities Officer to manage repairs and maintenance of public and heritage buildings. Overview

TAMWORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL ASSETS

Heritage & Leisure Facilities Officer

£34,434 - £39,152 per annum, plus essential car user allowance. Hybrid working contract. 37 hours per week. Permanent.

Role purpose

To assist in maintaining the Council’s heritage, leisure and corporate assets with a focus on public and heritage buildings.

Responsibilities
  • Manage repairs and routine and planned maintenance works, building safety works and building cleansing at various locations including Tamworth Castle, Tamworth Assembly Rooms, The Town Hall and other corporate and leisure facilities.
  • Assist in developing planned maintenance programmes and oversee capital investment projects.
  • Ensure buildings are maintained to a high standard and ready for significant public use, working closely with buildings and premises managers.
  • Support procurement and construction contract management with a focus on public and heritage buildings.
  • Maintain awareness of current regulations relating to building safety and compliance.
Qualifications and experience
  • HNC or equivalent in a construction discipline.
  • Experience of facilities management and building maintenance for public and heritage buildings.
  • Good understanding of building safety regulations and compliance; knowledge of procurement and contract management.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle to carry out duties.
