GEM is seeking a Heritage Learning Freelancer to enhance educational services in museums across Wales. This role involves designing engaging sessions for local schools and colleges, adapting materials for various institutions, and ensuring alignment with the Curriculum for Wales. The ideal candidate will have practical insights into museum learning and a commitment to improving educational partnerships within the community. Salary / Fee: From £5,000 to £5,000. The budget available for this work is approximately £5,000, which includes research, development, and delivery of the project, as well as any travel, expenses, and VAT. The freelancer is responsible for their own tax liabilities.

The Group for Education in Museums (GEM) has secured a grant from the Welsh Government Culture Division for 2025-6 to support museums in creating, adapting, and improving their learning services in line with the principles and educational practices outlined in the Curriculum for Wales (CfW).

The ideal candidate should be based in Wales or have a current, practical understanding of contemporary issues related to museum learning and education in Wales, including the Curriculum for Wales.
The session should be ready by early 2026, with a launch event scheduled for February/March 2026.
