An established community resource is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join the team at the Aylsham Heritage Centre. This role involves welcoming visitors and ensuring they have an enjoyable experience while exploring the local heritage. Volunteers will commit to 2.5-hour shifts, ideally on Tuesdays, and will play a vital role in fostering a friendly atmosphere. Whether you have a deep knowledge of Aylsham or just a passion for community service, this is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a beloved local institution and connect with visitors from all walks of life.
Role:
The Aylsham Heritage Centre is on the hunt for some new volunteers to help man the Centre, particularly on a Tuesday if possible. Volunteers usually do a 2.5 hour ‘shift’ in the Centre (either 10:30 – 1pm or 1pm – 3:30pm). The main duties are meeting and greeting visitors and making sure their visit is a happy one. Some days there are lots of visitors, some days are quieter. There may also be some money to handle as they do sell books and postcards.
No expert knowledge of Aylsham is required!
Time commitment:
2.5 hour shifts when possible – preferably on a Tuesday.
About the organisation:
Located in the old church rooms in the grounds of St Michael’s Church, Aylsham Heritage Centre is a resource for the local community to find out more about the heritage of the area.
