Vitacress is seeking a Growing Operative to join our Runcton-based team near Chichester. You will nurture crops from seed to harvest in a practical, hands-on role, contributing to high-quality fresh herbs for UK kitchens. Training will be provided to develop your growing skills and safety practices.

You’ll spend your days sowing, potting, monitoring crops, and maintaining tidy growing spaces while collaborating with colleagues to meet production targets and maintain food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in horticulture helpful but not essential.
• Willingness to learn and develop practical skills in growing crops.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a hands-on role.

Responsibilities

• Sowing seeds and helping young crops thrive.
• Potting, plugging, spacing, and caring for plants.
• Monitoring crops for pest, disease, or quality issues.
• Maintaining growing areas to high standards.
• Operating equipment and machinery safely.
