Job description

The US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) supports DoD intelligence sharing on global threats, aiding warfighters and coalition partners worldwide. We seek a creative, driven professional passionate about solving real-world issues within a fast-paced, cross-functional team.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide polite, professional, and responsive customer service.
  2. Offer face-to-face support to US Military, Civilian personnel, NATO forces, international students, and host nation civilians.
  3. Serve as the first contact for incident resolution related to hardware, software, and applications, escalating as necessary.
  4. Remotely troubleshoot and support end-user software issues.
  5. Follow up with customers to ensure incident resolution.
  6. Configure and upgrade computer software remotely.
  7. Provide guidance and leadership to less experienced technicians, with limited supervisory duties.
  8. Apply knowledge of computer troubleshooting principles, methods, and techniques.
  9. Analyze customer needs to determine functional requirements.
  10. Manage the functionality and efficiency of multiple computers and operating systems.
  11. Maintain system integrity and security.
  12. Support deployment of new services as needed.
  13. Maintain system documentation.
  14. Provide desk-side support and evaluate vendor products.
  15. Recommend hardware and software purchases, coordinate installations, and manage backups.
  16. Develop and monitor policies for computing resource allocation.
  17. Possibly program in administrative languages.
  18. Advise and train end-users.
  19. Stay current with relevant technologies.
  20. Participate in special projects.
  21. Support network administration and related hardware/software knowledge.
  22. Perform occasional network, system, information assurance, and logistics duties.
  23. Maintain professional certifications as required by the job.
Required Qualifications:
  1. At least 3 years of Systems Administration experience.
  2. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  3. Active SECRET clearance.
  4. Meet DoD 8570 requirements, including Security Plus CE certification and initial environment training within 2 weeks of hire.
  5. Good teamwork and customer relationship skills.
  6. At least 2 years’ experience with IT infrastructure services (e.g., DNS, DHCP, connectivity troubleshooting).

Note: This position requires shift work, including nights, days, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Top Secret/SCI clearance preferred.
  2. Experience supporting multinational customers.
  3. Experience with user and admin account management, server security, scripting, and virtualization technologies.
  4. Knowledge of Microsoft Server environments, system documentation, and training development.
  5. Experience with tools like ServiceNow, SCCM, VMWare, and supporting military clients.
  6. ITIL v4 certification preferred.
  7. Additional certifications may be required depending on the role.

Additional Information: The position may involve physical handling of equipment and is typically performed at client site locations with appropriate safety measures.
