Chatham’s Hedge Accounting practice is a thought leader in the industry. Our team advises clients on hedge accounting design and implementation for high-profile hedging transactions, handling a high volume of engagements annually. This role involves interactions with clients’ auditors and regulators and opportunities to engage with accounting standard setters as hedge accounting guidance evolves under US GAAP and IFRS.

In this role you will

• Provide consultation to clients at the highest levels of accounting and finance in their organizations
• Manage a client portfolio with advice on hedging strategies, effectiveness tests, hedge designation memos, inputs for future journal entries, and monthly reporting
• Serve as a subject matter expert whom clients and colleagues seek for guidance
• Develop a deep understanding of hedge accounting and the economics of interest rate, foreign currency, and commodities hedging through daily interaction with Chatham’s traders
• Contribute to cutting-edge research in a complex and evolving area of accounting

Your impact

This role works with treasurers, CFOs, controllers, audit partners, and standard setters. It has a major client service/consulting component. You will help clients with complex questions, conduct research, discuss topics with key personnel, and add value to client needs. You will have opportunities to specialize in this role, collaborate with smart colleagues, learn across multiple industries, and grow in your position.

Contributors to your success

• A qualified chartered accountant
• 0 to 3 years of post-qualification experience in financial reporting, auditing, or technical accounting advisory
• Good working knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 9
