Heavy Vehicle and Plant Mechanic

Start Date: ASAP

Job Purpose:

Responsible for the diagnostic testing, servicing and repairs on HGV, Construction Equipment, Heavy Plant and Military Vehicles.

Job Duties:

1. Assess overall condition of product.
2. Strip unit in accordance with work instructions.
3. Assess individual components to ensure they are fit for purpose.
4. Evaluate the commercial viability and availability of parts prior to the commencement of any work.
5. Build and test product in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
6. Report any faults to the Workshop Supervisor who will advise what action is needed.

Requirements/Experience/Competence/Qualifications:

1. Proven experience of repair & maintenance on HGV / Construction Equipment / Heavy Plant / Military or similar equipment.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel) or willing to work towards.
4. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
5. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
6. Displays willingness to follow instruction and learn new tasks.
7. Knowledge of QHSE Legislation.
8. Hold a valid driving licence.
9. Displays a good attitude towards work and the aims and objectives of the company.

The role will suit individuals currently working as a Heavy Vehicle and Plant Mechanic, Automotive / Mechanical Fitter, Specialist Vehicle Mechanic, Car Mechanic, Fitter and be living within a commutable distance of Coventry, Birmingham, Rugby, Nuneaton, Warwick or be willing to relocate.
