A waste management company in Greater Manchester is seeking a reliable Plant Mechanic to maintain, service, and repair a variety of heavy plant and yard machinery. You will play a key role in ensuring operational efficiency and safety. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge, possess an NVQ in Plant Maintenance, and hold a full UK driving licence. Competitive pay of £16–£20 per hour based on experience, with consistent daytime hours in a friendly team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Plant Mechanic, Heavy Plant Fitter, or similar role.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical knowledge.
• Ability to diagnose and repair faults independently.
• Competent working with yard and plant machinery.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsabilités

• Maintain, service, and repair heavy plant and yard machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
• Respond to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Conduct routine inspections and record findings.
• Source parts and assist with stock control.
