Job summary

PATH Recruitment is seeking a Heavy Plant Engineer for our client near Aveley, Essex. You'll maintain and repair a varied fleet of heavy construction machinery in a workshop environment, with a 40k-45k base salary and overtime paid at time and a half.

The role is permanent and workshop-based, Monday to Friday, with 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays and a company pension. Experience on heavy plant or agricultural equipment is preferred.

About the Role – Heavy Plant Engineer

As a Heavy Plant Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a varied fleet of heavy construction machinery, including excavators, dumpers, rollers and other plant equipment.

Working from the company's workshop near Aveley, your responsibilities will include:

• Servicing and maintaining heavy plant machinery.
• Diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic faults.
• Carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Identifying faults and completing effective repairs.
• Ensuring machinery is maintained to a high standard.
• Helping minimise equipment downtime.

About You

To be successful as a Heavy Plant Engineer, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience working on heavy plant or agricultural machinery.
• Good mechanical and fault-finding abilities.
• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing machinery.

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
