TXM Recruit is supporting a business in the rail industry that is experiencing significant growth due to the mobilisation of overhaul projects. We are recruiting a Heavy Maintenance Manager. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the successful mobilisation, deployment, and commercial delivery of our heavy maintenance projects.

What You Will Be Doing
  1. Develop effective internal and external working relationships to deliver all key elements of Heavy Maintenance contracts.
  2. Ensure all work complies with customer, technical, and legislative standards and specifications.
  3. Ensure all work is completed in a timely manner and to a high standard, meeting customer expectations.
  4. Establish safe systems of work in accordance with relevant standards.
  5. Recruit and develop skilled teams to deliver specific work packages.
  6. Recruit and develop Project Managers, Engineers, and Planners to support projects.
  7. Provide regular management information and KPIs reporting on key project deliverables.
  8. Conduct annual Performance Development Reviews with direct reports promptly.
  9. Support the bid team with input for new work opportunities and contracts.
  10. Lead the mobilisation for new projects, including developing deliverables such as resource plans, work breakdown structures, tooling requirements, risk register, Bill of Materials, and specifications, all in accordance with company procedures.
  11. Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
  12. Manage customer interfaces, including leading Contract Review Meetings.
  13. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including LEAN techniques and processes.
  14. Develop internal systems, processes, procedures, and reporting mechanisms for clear control.
  15. Proactively manage customer relationships, identifying opportunities to maximize revenues and reduce costs.
What Do You Need to Apply?
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering.
  • Previous experience and understanding of rail vehicle maintenance activities.
