With depots in Avonmouth, Cardiff, Gloucester, Stonehouse, and Tewkesbury, we primarily operate across the South-West of England. Our specialties include Construction, Waste Management, Plant Hire, Demolition, and Transport operations.

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Heavy Haulage Logistics Manager to oversee all heavy haulage and abnormal load movements, including responsibility for all relevant Movement Orders.

Responsibilities:

  1. Keep drivers informed about procedural changes and provide relevant guidance.
  2. Take overall responsibility for all heavy haulage and abnormal load movements, including Movement Orders.
  3. Route the Low Loader fleet effectively, ensuring compliance with customer, company, contractual, and legislative requirements.
  4. Develop and maintain open, effective communication internally and externally, maintaining a positive, approachable attitude.
  5. Problem-solve and route vehicles efficiently, considering profit and productivity.
  6. Ensure safe, cost-effective daily operations of the Low Loaders that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  7. Maximize the productivity of the Low Loader fleet.
  8. Supervise drivers, including briefing, debriefing, monitoring, and performance management, as directed by the Plant Hire Divisional Manager.
  9. Collaborate with fleet/garage colleagues to minimize vehicle downtime and ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
  10. Ensure adherence to DVSA vehicle and driver compliance for Special Types rules, including maintenance and MOT certificates.
  11. Maintain full compliance of the Low Loader fleet with all relevant regulations.
  12. Monitor KPIs for the Low Loader fleet.
  13. Report, document, and log vehicle defects according to company procedures.
  14. Keep the Divisional Manager informed of issues requiring action.
