Heavy Haulage Logistics Manager, Stonehouse

Smiths Gloucester Limited, a leading construction and waste management company in the South West, is seeking an experienced Heavy Haulage Logistics Manager. The role involves overseeing all heavy haulage and abnormal load movements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and managing the Low Loader fleet.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all heavy haulage and abnormal load movements, including Movement Orders.
  • Route the Low Loader fleet effectively, considering customer, contractual, and legislative requirements.
  • Maintain open communication with drivers and internal teams.
  • Supervise drivers, monitor performance, and ensure safety and compliance.
  • Coordinate with fleet/garage teams to minimize vehicle downtime and ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
  • Ensure all vehicles and trailers are maintained, serviced, and have valid MOT certificates.
  • Monitor KPIs and report vehicle defects and issues to management.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Experience in heavy haulage logistics and fleet management.
  • EU work permit required.
  • Knowledge of DVSA regulations and vehicle compliance.
