We’re on the lookout for skilled Vehicle Inspection Engineers based across London to join our expert team at Logistics UK.
In this field-based role, you’ll carry out audits and maintenance inspections on vehicles and equipment, supporting our members with expert advice on compliance, industry changes, and vehicle improvements.
This is a flexible role that involves regular travel and occasional overnight stays — perfect for someone who enjoys being on the move and working independently.

As a Vehicle Inspection Engineer / Heavy Good Vehicle Inspection Engineer your responsibilities will be:
• To plan and organise your work effectively, including member contact
• Carrying out inspections and audits safely and to our high standards
• Meeting productivity targets and complete tasks on time
• Ensuring all reports and documentation are completed accurately
• Protecting and maintaining our electronic systems and data security
• Engaging with customers to provide practical, cost-effective solutions
• Attending training and meetings as required
• Supporting the Regional Operations Manager with additional duties

• Fully trained HGV, PSV or MHE Engineer with relevant technical qualifications
• Minimum required: C&G Motor Vehicle Craft Studies (Heavy Vehicle), NVQ/SNVQ Level 2 or above
• Alternatively, workshop experience with a current car licence
• Vehicle inspection experience (to meet IRTEC standards)
• Occupational driving licence – Category C (HGV) or D (PSV) required
• (If you have Cat D, we may support training for Cat C)
• Strong IT skills and confidence using new systems
• Highly motivated, independent, and well-organised
• Great communication skills and a solid understanding of field-based work
• Membership of a professional body (desirable)
• Sound knowledge of HGV/PSV testing standards
