Qualifications

Job Summary

We pride ourselves on having a team of expert Vehicle Inspection Engineers to advise our members. Your responsibilities include conducting vehicle and equipment audits, maintenance inspections, and providing industry insights to ensure compliance and vehicle performance.

This role requires flexibility and involves travel and occasional overnight stays to ensure all tasks are completed effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect vehicles and systems with precision and professionalism.
  • Provide expert advice on compliance and safety to members.
  • Inform members about industry changes and best practices.
  • Travel regionally, including overnight stays.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold high standards.
  • Represent Logistics UK with integrity and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Fully trained HGV, PSV, or MHE Engineers with relevant qualifications.
  • Minimum C&G Motor Vehicle Craft Studies Heavy Vehicle, Motor Vehicle Technicians Heavy Vehicle, or (S)NVQ level 2 in HGV, PSV, or Heavy Plant; or at least 3 years of HGV/PSV workshop experience with a current car license and minimal points.
  • At least 3 years of experience inspecting the specific vehicle type to meet IRTEC standards.
  • Occupational driving license “C (HGV)” or “D (PSV)” is required for road testing.
  • If holding a “D” license, training to achieve a “C” license will be considered.
  • Proficiency with IT systems and quick learner of new technologies.
  • Motivated, independent worker with good organizational and communication skills.
  • Understanding of fieldwork challenges.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of HGV/PSV testing standards.
