Job summary

Harsco Environmental is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate large mobile equipment in steel‑mill support operations, moving materials, and supporting production in a demanding industrial environment. You will perform pre‑shift inspections, follow safety rules, and communicate with dispatch and maintenance teams.

Requires 1–3 years of operator experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Strong safety mindset and proactive safety practices.
• Good communication skills, ability to read instructions.
• Ability to perform manual labor outdoors in varied weather and terrain.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment such as wheel loaders, dozers, excavators, cranes, material handlers, haul trucks, and other support equipment.
• Support steel‑mill operations through material handling activities (slag, scrap metal, raw materials, by‑products).
• Perform pre‑shift and post‑shift inspections and report issues.
• Operate in compliance with safety regulations and site procedures.
• Maintain clean work areas and complete production and operation documentation.
