Job summary

Proactive Personnel Ltd is seeking a Steel Processing Operative for a busy site. This hands-on role involves loading/unloading materials, operating machinery and supporting daily production tasks. You will handle steel with care, use an overhead crane after training, and keep the area clean and safe.

The position requires reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work as part of a team. The 2pm-10pm shift is fixed, and candidates should have own transport for long-term employment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, warehousing, metalwork or a similar hands-on role is beneficial.
• Physically capable of handling heavy materials and performing manual tasks.
• Reliable, punctual and eager to learn.
• Able to follow instructions and work safely as part of a team.
• Willing to work the 2pm-10pm shift and have own transport.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading steel materials onto machinery.
• Cutting steel materials to the required sizes.
• Assisting with steel processing and production operations.
• Using an overhead crane to move materials safely, with full training provided.
• Moving and handling materials around the workplace.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
• Following health and safety procedures at all times.
