Summary

The Heavy Equipment Operator safely operates a variety of equipment used in construction, maintenance, pipe, and utility repair and installation. This includes repair work on roads, highways, parking lots, and other large site projects.

Essential Functions

• Operates heavy equipment (such as Backhoes, Bulldozers, etc.) of various sizes and weights used in road, site, pipe, or highway construction and paving.
• Follows company and OSHA safety procedures diligently. Reports problems to the foreman, superintendent, safety director, or HR manager.
• Adheres to daily procedures and protocols as outlined during job orientations and training sessions.
• Performs routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment; reports defects or repairs needed to the supervisor; cleans equipment.
• Assists in the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices.
• Helps train new employees in maintenance and repair duties as required or assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
