This position exclusively operates heavy equipment used in spreading, covering, loading, and/or compacting waste or soil in an efficient and safe manner to support the maintenance of our solid waste landfill.

Responsibilities and Duties for Heavy Equipment Operators:

• Operate large earth-moving equipment such as dozers and trackhoes
• Operate mining equipment as needed
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on all equipment
• Troubleshoot minor repairs when necessary
• Perform manual labor including trash pickup, setting water pumps, and dragging hoses
• This position may be labor-intensive, requiring outdoor work in all weather conditions and some heavy lifting
