The ideal Heavy Equipment Mechanic will maintain and repair company equipment, including vehicles, cranes, boats, and trailers, as well as small engine repair. Repairs are performed on-site and in the shop.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Small engine, vehicle, diesel engine, and boat repair, and general repair on company equipment.
  • Maintain shop and all tools and equipment used in repair.
  • Inspect equipment regularly.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of small engine, gasoline engine, diesel engine, and boat repair.
  • Ability to work with hand tools and power tools.

Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, as well as small engine repair.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • 5-7 years of experience as a mechanic, with at least 2 years in marine construction preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc.
  • Work in construction and marine site environments with potential hazards.
  • Work in small and enclosed spaces.
  • Move about the worksite, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, and stretching.
  • Perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Operate machinery and power tools.
  • Operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
  • Work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Respond quickly to dangerous situations and noises.
