Job summary

Mane Contract Services is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair airport ground support equipment. You will join a dedicated engineering team delivering high-quality servicing and repairs for business customers.

The role requires strong HGV mechanical experience, a City & Guilds qualification, and five years of traceable airside work history. A Class 1 licence and CRC/GSAT readiness are advantageous, with on-site work and shift patterns. Training is provided.

• City & Guilds qualification in Motor Vehicle Engineering or equivalent.
• Five years of checkable employment history for airside pass clearance.
• HGV Class 1 driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair ground support equipment.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical planned maintenance per schedule.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to safety and quality standards.
• Complete service documentation and job cards accurately and timely.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to support safe equipment turnaround.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety legislation and procedures.

Working as part of a dedicated engineering team, you will deliver high-quality servicing and repairs while providing an excellent service to business customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair a wide range of ground support equipment.
• Complete mechanical and electrical planned preventative maintenance in accordance with scheduled plans.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to the required safety and quality standards.
• Complete service documentation and job cards accurately and within the required timescales.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to support the safe and efficient turnaround of equipment.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety legislation and company procedures.

Experience and Qualifications

• Strong HGV mechanical experience is essential.
• HGV Class 1 driving licence.
• City & Guilds qualification in Motor Vehicle Engineering, Motor Mechanics or an equivalent discipline.
• Five years of checkable employment history for airside pass clearance.
• Ability to pass the required CRC checks.
• Ability to obtain GSAT certification through the company's in-house training programme.
• Experience working with GSE, commercial vehicles, heavy plant or similar equipment would be advantageous.
