Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Description

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic prevents and corrects equipment malfunctions for all types of equipment (e.g., mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic), including diagnosing complex problems while following all safety rules.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Service and oversee repairs of all equipment to ensure proper working condition.
2. Be familiar with all phases of heavy equipment repairs.
3. Maintain a safe work environment.
4. Communicate equipment issues effectively with the supervisor.
5. Adhere to all safety requirements (company, governmental, and equipment-related).
6. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. At least 2 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.
2. Trade school or technical training is desirable.
3. Must have own tools.
4. Class B CDL license required.
5. Willingness to travel daily within a 150-mile radius of Bath, PA shop.
6. DOT Physical Examination (Medical card) necessary.
7. Mandatory overtime as needed.
8. Strong safety consciousness and understanding of equipment safety.
9. Ability to communicate equipment issues and understand job assignments.
10. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment problems.
11. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
