About the role

Transport Repairs Ltd. is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Invercargill, Southland. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy commercial vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.

What you'll be doing

1. Diagnose and repair a variety of heavy diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and related heavy-duty equipment
2. Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and tune-ups on trucks, buses, and other commercial vehicles
3. Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues
4. Maintain accurate documentation and records of all work performed
5. Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks
6. Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations

What we're looking for

1. Formal qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics or a related Automotive Trades field
2. Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, preferably in a commercial or fleet setting
3. Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
4. Strong mechanical aptitude and dexterity
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
6. Commitment to safety and attention to detail
7. Ideally you will hold a minimum of a class 4 driver's licence or have the ability to obtain one through the Companies training program.
