Experienced Automotive / Heavy Diesel Mechanic

We are looking for a Mechanic to share their talent, skills, and experience with the Plant Team at HEB Construction.

HEB is a significant player in the heavy civil and structures business and a leader in the construction of New Zealand infrastructure. The business provides a range of products and services to complement its core offerings, such as subdivisions, roading, bridges, and marine construction. The Plant team manages a fleet of construction equipment, from excavators, cars, and rollers to some of the biggest diggers and cranes!

This role is based in or near Christchurch.

About the role :

  • Provide mechanical support to the Plant department.
  • Ensure the maintenance, improvement, and timely repairs of HEB vehicles.
  • Work with all areas of the business and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Maintain a customer service focus, both internally and externally.
  • Champion health and safety.

About you :

  • Level 4 Heavy Automotive Engineering / Automotive Engineering (or overseas equivalent).
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Class 1 (Class 2-5 plus WTR desirable).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivation and a strong work ethic.
  • Time management skills.

We work all over the Wellington region and surrounds, so you should be open to travel within the region. You should be committed to health & safety in the workplace, working safely and ensuring your colleagues do the same.
