Job description

About the role

Contract: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Birmingham

Reporting to the M&E Heating Service and Repair Programme Manager, you ll lead a team of approximately 12 engineers delivering repairs, maintenance, servicing, and void (Empty Homes) works. Taking a hands-on approach, you ll provide technical guidance, coach your team to meet performance targets, and ensure consistently high standards across all areas of delivery.

You'll play a key role in driving quality assurance, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory standards-while keeping customer satisfaction at the heart of service delivery.

What we re looking for

We're seeking a skilled professional with strong leadership qualities and a proven track record in heating services. You'll bring:

  • NVQ Level 3 in HVAC (or equivalent qualification)

  • Core Gas Safety (CCN1) and SSCS Certificate (or equivalent)

  • Gas Safe "Registered Person" status

  • Level 3 Gas Audit qualification

  • Extensive experience in heating systems from installation to commissioning

  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage technical teams

  • Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and gas safety procedures, including unsafe situations

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and people management skills

Additional requirements

  • A full UK driving licence (a company car or cash allowance is provided with the role)

  • An enhanced DBS check is required (we will arrange this for you)
  • Right to work in the UK
