Position: Plumbing and Heating Specialist

Simon Acres Group is working with a well-established builders merchant, seeking a Plumbing and Heating Specialist to join their team at the Exeter branch on a full-time basis. This is a permanent position offering up to £32,000 + bonus.

Hours of Work:

• Week 1: Monday to Friday, 07:00–16:00
• Week 2: Monday to Friday, 07:00–16:00 + Saturday, 08:00–12:00

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting customers at the trade counter with expert product knowledge and delivering exceptional service, while driving sales and supporting internal operations.
• Provide customers with friendly, efficient service and expert product advice.
• Drive sales through effective follow-up, promotional selling, and quotations.
• Work closely with the Plumbing & Heating Manager to ensure consistency and best practice.
• Maximise margins through effective pricing and supplier negotiation.
• Process enquiries and quotes quickly and accurately (within 3 working days).
• Support external sales reps by handling internal needs and customer liaison.
• Carry out site surveys when needed to support customer requirements.
• Ensure all special orders are placed with preferred suppliers at the best prices.

Ideal Applicant:

This role would suit someone with experience in a trade counter environment, ideally within plumbing and heating. Strong communication, sales, and organisational skills are essential. Full training will be provided on systems and processes.
