Job summary

Get Staffed Online Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Heating and Plumbing Estimator to join the team. The role combines site surveys, estimating, technical support and quality assurance, with occasional hands-on work on the tools.

You will visit customers to assess and quote work, prepare clear scopes of work for Engineers, and inspect ongoing and completed jobs to ensure they meet specifications and relevant regulations.

Qualifications

• Substantial hands-on heating and plumbing experience.
• Previous experience surveying, estimating or quoting work.
• Strong knowledge of heating and plumbing installations, repairs and fault finding.
• Ability to calculate labour and material requirements accurately.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of job costs and margins.
• Confidence to inspect workmanship and address quality issues.
• Excellent customer-service, communication and organisational skills.

Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced Heating and Plumbing Estimator to join their team. This is a varied, hands-on role combining site surveys, estimating, technical support and quality assurance.

You will visit customers to assess and quote heating and plumbing work, prepare accurate estimates and provide clear scopes of work for their Engineers. You will also inspect ongoing and completed jobs to ensure they meet the agreed specification, relevant regulations and their quality standards.

Although estimating and quality assurance will form the main part of the role, you must remain willing and able to work on the tools when technical or operational support is required.

About You

You will need:

• Substantial hands-on heating and plumbing experience.
• Previous experience surveying, estimating or quoting work.
• Strong knowledge of heating and plumbing installations, repairs and fault finding.
• The ability to calculate labour and material requirements accurately.
• Good commercial awareness and an understanding of job costs and margins.
• The confidence to inspect workmanship and address quality issues.
• Strong customer-service, communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Competence using email, job-management systems and estimating software.
• A full UK driving licence.
• A willingness to rarely work on the tools when required.

Relevant heating and plumbing qualifications are essential. Gas Safe registration and qualifications in unvented hot-water systems, renewable heating or commercial systems would be advantageous.
