The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust seeks a Hearing Therapist for its Audiology Department to provide essential services for patients with hearing difficulties. This role involves offering rehabilitation for complex cases and supporting patients through various audiological challenges in a community-based service.
The Audiology Department is looking for a caring individual with good communication and organisational skills to join our team. The role of the Hearing Therapist is to provide a comprehensive Hearing Therapy service for the Shropshire audiology service. The majority of cases are complex and non-routine. They will serve as a source of professional guidance and advice on the development of aural rehabilitation for adults with hearing difficulties. Additionally, they will contribute to developing a constructive working relationship between the Audiology department and other inter-agency groups to provide a more comprehensive, flexible service that meets patient needs.
Shropshire Audiology is a community-based service, so some flexibility to travel to different sites is required. The main base for this post will be Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
Our Audiology department is committed to staff development and offers training opportunities. There is one part-time position available for 15 hours per week.

Shropshire Audiology serves a population of 500,000 people, seeing approximately 60,000 patients annually. We offer a range of services, including adult hearing aid support, ENT support, paediatric audiology, the Shropshire Auditory Implant Service, hearing therapy and rehabilitation clinics, tinnitus and hyperacusis management, and balance services.
