Job summary

The Vale of Glamorgan Council is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (Level 3) for the Hearing Support Team at Cogan Primary School, Penarth. You will work 30 hours weekly, providing in-class and one-to-one support for deaf pupils and contributing to outreach when required.

The role requires experience in a secondary setting, strong communication, and a commitment to helping learners access all aspects of school life. BSL Level 2 or higher preferred.

Qualifications

• You will support pupils with hearing loss to access the curriculum using various communication approaches.
• Experience in a secondary school setting working with children is essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class and small-group support to pupils with hearing loss.
• Assist with one-to-one work and outreach activities as directed by the Teacher of the Deaf.
• Promote pupils’ independence and ensure inclusion across all curriculum areas.
