About the role.

Are you a passionate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) professional ready to drive world-class standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? Do you thrive on creating safer, smarter, and more sustainable workplaces? If so, this is your opportunity to lead from the front.

We’re on the lookout for an experienced Site HSE Manager to take ownership of our safety culture, compliance, and continuous improvement efforts. You'll play a critical role as part of the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring we operate not only within legal standards – but above them.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

Accountabilities.

  • Championing a safety-first culture by embedding best practices across the site.
  • Leading the development and implementation of safety and environmental policies in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Conducting daily site inspections, risk assessments, and implementing preventative measures.
  • Leading training sessions, toolbox talks, and site inductions to empower teams with safety awareness.
  • Managing incident investigations, reporting and root cause analysis to drive improvement.
  • Keeping us up to date with legislation, audits, and statutory obligations.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and external bodies including auditors, insurers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensuring all third parties on site – contractors, agency staff, visitors – meet our stringent safety criteria.
  • Playing a key role in emergency planning and evacuation procedures.
  • Driving environmental compliance in line with our site’s environmental permit.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in a senior HSE management role within manufacturing (food sector experience is a plus).
  • NEBOSH General Certificate and NEBOSH National Diploma – both essential.
  • A Professional Environmental Qualification.
  • Proven knowledge of ISO 45001 (essential) and ISO 14001, HACCP, and DuPont safety methodology (desirable).
  • Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills – you’ll be working cross-functionally and leading from the front.
  • Excellent IT skills, especially in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
