Job summary

5 Star Recruitment is seeking a qualified cook/catering supervisor in Nottingham to manage daily catering for a day service. You will plan menus, purchase food, and present meals attractively while ensuring correct portions and cost controls.

You will also ensure cleanliness, hygiene, stock control, and adherence to food safety regulations, with responsibility for safety and delivery checks, and supporting service users with healthy eating options.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of responsibilities under the food safety act and related legislation.
• Knowledge of menu planning and food purchasing.
• Knowledge of issues in relation to health eating and catering for special diets.
• Knowledge of safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor expenditure and ensure the service is cost effective within budget.
• Plan menus and arrange food purchasing.
• Present food attractively and ensure portions are correct.
• Maintain high cleanliness and observe good hygiene practices.
• Be responsible for security of kitchen, dining and storage areas and stock records.
• Research user views on menus and resolve complaints as appropriate.
• Establish cleaning schedules and ensure proper documentation.
• Check deliveries for quality and quantity and take action on issues.
• Report equipment defects to day service manager and arrange repairs or replacements.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety at Work Act and provide instruction to users.
