Job summary

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced trainer to support the Mandatory and Essential Skills Training programme. You will work with an established team to deliver high-quality staff training across multiple locations, helping staff develop practical skills to be safe and effective in their roles.

The role suits someone with teaching/training experience and a flexible, curious approach, committed to improving healthcare delivery.

Qualifications

Educated to degree level or demonstrable evidence of degree-level experience.
Evidence of continued professional development.
Experience of developing and delivering training in a health or care setting.
Experience of working with service users and carers.
Experience of working clinically within a healthcare environment.
Ability to identify and support the needs of learners.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in prioritising and organising own workload.
Awareness of the Core Skills for Health Training Framework.
Understanding of policy, procedures, and guidance.
Willingness to work at multiple locations and adjust schedule with notice.
Able to use a PC for extended periods.
Able to move and handle training equipment and demonstrate techniques.

Responsibilities

To support the assessment, planning, and delivery on a comprehensive range of specialist training courses for the Trust, considering complex community needs.
To engage and utilise the specialist skills of all disciplines.
To provide support and guidance to associate trainers.
To maintain links with clinical services, developing collaborative relationships.
To risk assess the safety of learners when supporting training design and delivery.
To provide risk-based guidance using specialist knowledge with lead support.
To support applying training through flexible learning methods to meet different staff needs.
To act as a point of contact for advice, support and training on mandatory training issues.
To be responsible for equipment used, ensuring safe use through teaching, training, and supervising.
To liaise with subject matter experts and escalate relevant issues.
To ensure training content and delivery incorporate equality, diversity and inclusion.
