Optegra has an exciting new job opportunity for an experienced Healthcare Technician or HCA (Band 3) with ward or theatre experience, ideally gained in Ophthalmology, to join our supportive team at our private Brighton Eye Hospital. The Role

As part of a multidisciplinary team, ensure comprehensive ophthalmic patient care, supporting clinical and administrative tasks. Collaborate with optometrists for outpatient consultations and pre-assessment.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality patient care throughout their visit
• Coordinate with clinical and patient services staff for smooth operations
• Perform diagnostic tests such as Biometry, OCT, AScan, Visual fields, Pentacam, VA, IOP, Topography
• Support patients on surgery days with effective communication
• Handle patient enquiries and refer to medical practitioners when necessary
• Provide basic health promotion advice related to ophthalmic surgery
• Assist with pre and postoperative patient care within your competence

Requirements

• NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent
• Experience in healthcare or ophthalmic sector
• Basic Life Support certification
• Highly organized with good planning and flexibility
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
