A reputable healthcare provider in England is looking for Healthcare Support Workers to join their inpatient wards. The role offers full training and support, requiring no previous experience. Successful candidates must be flexible with shift availability, as positions cover nights and weekends. This role is integral to patient care and requires candidates to demonstrate care certificate competencies for Band 3 employment. Progression pathways to further qualifications are available.
We can offer fully supported training for the role as well as support and guidance to career progression. No previous experience is necessary; we provide the training you will need to succeed in this role. We offer a bespoke full induction, support you through the care certificate and beyond, with mentors on the wards to help you reach your potential and deliver first class care to our patients.
This post is advertised as a Band 3; applicants that do not meet the required care certificate competencies will initially be employed at Band 2. Applicants who hold a care certificate accreditation will start in post at Band 3.
Our HCSWs are invaluable to the trust and play an integral role in the wards and departmental teams. The role of a HCSW can be challenging but overall rewarding. Working alongside likeminded people, our teams are caring, compassionate and inclusive. We believe in “growing our own” and support progression pathways to staff nurse training applications.
There are full‑time and part‑time hours on offer. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – therefore, we require everyone to be fully flexible across all shift patterns, including weekdays, weekends, nights and bank holidays.
We are recruiting to inpatient wards at Royal Bournemouth Hospital; these are permanent positions on Ward 14, Endocrine and Ward 3 within the Medical Specialities Directorate.
As part of the selection process you will be required to complete a numeracy and literacy assessment alongside an interview.
A Disability Confident employer generally offers an interview to any applicant that declares they have a disability and meets the minimum criteria for the job as defined by the employer. In certain recruitment situations such as high‑volume, seasonal and high‑peak times, the employer may limit the overall numbers of interviews offered to both disabled people and non‑disabled people.
