Job description

Job Overview

Join Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, where we offer a variety of challenging and rewarding roles within a supportive, innovative, and dynamic work environment!

We currently have vacancies for experienced Healthcare Support Workers to join our expanding team on Griffin Ward, a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) based at the Herschel Prins Centre.

The role of the Healthcare Support Worker (HCA) involves working as part of the nursing team to support individuals through their recovery, addressing both their physical health and mental health needs. We seek candidates experienced in working with people with mental health issues, who are compassionate, caring, and confident in managing difficult situations.

Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (PICUs) are specialized wards providing inpatient mental health care, assessment, and comprehensive treatment for individuals experiencing the most acute phases of serious mental disorders, including risks of self-harm, absconding, or suicide.

  • Griffin Ward is a 6-bed female-only psychiatric intensive care unit with a higher staff-to-patient ratio than most wards.

We prioritize the health and wellbeing of our team members, offering a robust induction, regular supervision, and support. There are opportunities for career progression through structured learning pathways aligned with your long-term goals and strengths.
