Job overview

We are a busy outpatient department, with many different multi-disciplinary clinics running. We are looking for a dynamic, hardworking person who relish's in providing person centred support and care to our patients. To be supportive to the departmental team in a busy working department.

We are the start of patients planned elective surgery and work towards safe surgery and demonstrate compassion throughout their journey within the Pre-Operative department here at Wrightington Hospital.

Candidates will be required to produce original certificates of qualifications at interview stage.

Must have NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.

Main duties of the job

Elective Surgical Pre-Op pathway adhering to NICE Elective guidelines and trust policies.

  • Performing ECGs, Venepunture, Vitalograph & recording digitally the results.
  • Assisting colleagues from all disciplines with good communication skills and team ethos. Act as an advocate for the patients, with reassurance.
  • Keeping up to date with trust mandatory training.
  • Ordering of stock when needed. Maintaining professionalism and willingness to develop with new initiatives in the department.

You will need excellent communication & documentation skills on the trusts digital platform.

Respect, dignity and confidentiality at all times with patients and staff.

To assist the wider Pre-operative team in clinic sessions

To obtain Pre-operative tests to promote a safe patient journey prior to Elective surgery.

To document clear and concise information on hospital IT systems.

To maintain respect, dignity & confidentiality at all times with patients & colleagues

To order stock for the department

To participate in audits when required

Qualifications
